SharedView and Live Writer

I’ve been using Microsoft SharedView since it came out to collaborate on software remotely and it’s fantastic. It generally works without a hitch and I’ve had it going with a fair number of people; we used it for an iteration planning session. It’s notable to say that we also a Skype conference going at the same time through a fairly limited network connection. I’ve tried just about everything under the sun as far as two-way screen sharing solutions go and this one just works. If you can put up with a few ads here and there it’s definitely worth a shot.

I am just getting around to using the rev’d up Live Writer now. I particularly like the UI enhancement to the inline spell check. Notice in the screenshot below how misspelled words become slightly more bold. They have the red-squiggle-underline-thing too so it’s debatable if the bolding is needed but it’s a worthwhile experiment that doesn’t hurt the usability of the app.

Started using it right away. Still using it quite a bit. It's got a couple of quirks (it is a beta after all) but generally works great. Better for sharing than control.

Is this new LM rollout? Will it be coming to the public?
  • I hadn't heard of this 'till you mentioned it, but it looks a *lot* like the new Microsoft Live Meeting 2007 that we just started rolling out. Perhaps this is a public version of that? When did you start using it? I noticed your original post was from the beginning of June...
